Firefox: re-enable print and scale options from Print Preview

firefox print preview

Firefox 3.0 stable default setup has these features disabled

  • direct printing from print preview
  • ability to zoom page before printing from print preview
  • ability to change printing page orientation (portrait/landscape)

all this can be achieved by setting string print.whileInPrintPreview in about:config as true
(this now defaults to false).

I filed a bug report about this issue here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox-3.0/+bug/245772

  1. Do you know how to send a page direct to printer at Firefox? I tryied to do it as I do with IE, but I did not find the information

    Ruben,
you can reduce the number of clicks required to print a page by adding the printer button to the toolbars of Firefox.
This can be done right clicking on the toolbar and choosing customise then drag and drop the Print button where you want it to appear.
